CHAPTER 1 : ANCIENT SWORD – Summary

[Episode 1: The Death of Stavros]
On his journey, Bard’s horse, Stavros, reaches the end of his life and is attacked by a group of long-eared wolves who are after his body. Engdahl, a rogue green-skinned humanoid, saves Bard from certain death with his help. Engdahl makes a sword sheath from Stavros’ skin. Bard sets off on his journey with a merchant acquaintance of Engdahl.

[Episode 2: Nataken (The Cleaver Sword)]
Bard buys a sword that looks like a cleaver and is hung up like trash in a nameless village’s general store. A river bear monster appears in the village. Bard tries to save the villagers even if it means sacrificing himself. At that moment, the cleaver sword emits a blue-green phosphorescence and cuts through the tough river bear monster. Could this cleaver sword be the true magic sword that ancient heroes used to defeat giants and demons?

[Episode 3: The Boy Who Wants to be a Knight]
A family living in the mountains makes a living with the vegetable Egalsocia, which keeps beasts away. Bard remembers his past when he hears the wish of a boy who wants to become a knight. The knight who stayed at Bard’s house when he was nine to ten years old was Bard’s first master. Unexpectedly, Bard was hired by the Tercia family and became a knight under the guidance of the head, Erzella.

[Episode 4: The Knight of the Wall Sword]
Bard visits the Mageia territory and is about to be punished by the lord, Godon Zarkos, who mistakes him for a bandit. Bard, who has cleared up the misunderstanding and is staying with the Zarkos family, teaches martial arts to Godon. Godon, who longs for travel, entrusts his territory to his younger brother and becomes Bard’s companion.

[Episode 5: Revenge]
The lord of the Tuorim territory not only oppresses his subjects with tyranny and heavy taxes, but also enjoys watching those who oppose him have their throats cut by two guards. Bard and Godon, who passed through the Tuorim territory early on, feast with three old people who saved a traveling merchant in the mountains. In fact, those old people are siblings, led by an 18-year-old, who had their parents brutally murdered by the lord six years ago. Bard and Godon shed tears at the siblings’ ruthless revenge, which they sacrificed themselves for.

[Episode 6: Moonfish of The Stream]
Bard and his companions visit the proprietress of a mountain stream where delicious moonfish can be caught. There was a group of soldiers heading towards the stream. It was said that an ash death disease had broken out in the stream. Bard and Godon clear up the misunderstanding and save the village in the stream.

[Episode 7: Jameen’s Hero]
Bard and his companions visit a village that serves delicious Nora cuisine. Bard cuts through Jameen’s (a monkey-like humanoid) territory to get the medicine for a boy in the village who has been poisoned by a snake. He is caught by the Jameen and ends up fighting a blue panther monster. Just when it seems all is lost, the ancient sword emits a blue-green phosphorescence again, and Bard escapes from danger.

[Episode 8: Leather Armor Craftsman Polpo]
Bard arrives in the city of Krausk and decides to have his leather armor made from the skin of a river bear monster. However, the craftsman Polpo, who was entrusted with the skin, is arrested for murder. Bard, with the help of Godon and Jurchaga, exposes the real culprit and is impressed by the personality of the former Krausk lord, Huddle Zoruarus.

[Episode 9: Sir Enzaia Castle]
Bard is invited to the castle of Sir Enzaia, the lord of the Majuestz territory. Bard is caught in the midst of a conspiracy surrounding the castle, but with the help of Godon and Jurchaga, he rescues the real Sir Enzaia. This incident leads Bard to meet Maura, a humanoid with a tree-like appearance, and the spirit Sui. Bard also acquires a wild horse named Yueitan.

[Episode 10: The Promised Sword]
Ousa, the eldest son of the lord of Shesa, pretends to be dead and runs away from his territory to avoid a dispute over his succession. Bard, who helps him, realizes that the ancient sword is the promised sword that Idora gave him, and that it is the sword that Stavros, his beloved horse, resides in. He decides to stop his journey to death and continue his journey to live for today.
