Chapter 18 - Meeting Ten Times on the Matching App

It was a game-like set of choices, but apparently this was the reward for ten matches. I felt a little let down, but I still moved my finger, basking in the afterglow of my achievement. First, I understood the top three. Ranking up would probably unlock more features and allow me to see more information about my partners. But so far, I hadn’t had much trouble without that information. I was a little curious about the ratings of the people I’d met so far, but that was about it. And the second one. Getting 10 matching points was great. I think I only have 2 right now, but by meeting Melody-san every week, I’ll definitely be in the positive. I don’t think I’ll run out, but if I do, I’ll have to wait to be invited, and that doesn’t sound very fun. The third one, these repeat points. This was probably what I had been trying so hard to get. I didn’t know there was such a thing for reuniting, and I heard that a 3-star didn’t need points to repeat with a 1-star. But considering that my rank will go up after 10 matches, I might have to complete even more matches next time.
Considering all of the above, the 10 matching points were out. Now, I had to decide whether it was better to rank up first or use the repeat points to meet the girls I've already met. It was a tough decision. I ran through simulations in my head, staring at the screen for a while.

The confidence of still having two spins left and the anticipation of what would come next. Those two things pushed me to move my finger to shuffle again. This time, there were some of the same options as before, but the number of points awarded was lower. So this was random after all. Thinking about it that way made it feel even more like a game. And this time, a new option, high-rank matching points, had appeared. I didn’t know which rank "high" referred to, but if it was 5-star, I’d heard they were celebrity class. If so, this would be extremely valuable.
They were all so appealing that I felt like I would regret my choice no matter what I picked. My thoughts came to a halt as if I had sunk into a swamp. But with the 24-hour limit, there was no time to hesitate. If I happened to forget, it would be the worst.
I had to make up my mind. I took a breath and pressed the option on the screen.
