Chapter 461 - Meanwhile: Side Two Swords
“Mmm…”
My consciousness was stirred by the sound of a chiming alarm. When I lifted my eyelids, I was met with pure darkness.
The cave, still and silent, was filled with a chill air. But my avatar, far more resilient than its real-world counterpart, was not so fragile as to be affected by such a minor cold.
Thanks in part to the fur blanket my partner had fashioned with a surprising display of skill, I awoke on the third day feeling reasonably refreshed.
Beside me, my petite companion was still breathing quietly, fast asleep. Judging by the serene look on her face, she too must have slept well.
Then again, I had rarely seen her look anything other than serene.
Even though I hadn't showered and had just woken up, I glanced at her while combing my avatar’s hair with my fingers, which passed through without a single snag. The system clock showed exactly 5:00 AM.

I wasn't sure if “surprising” was the right word for it… but thanks to a certain someone who apparently possessed an unbelievably bad sense of direction (?), we had been through one ridiculous situation after another.
But an adventure that was anything but boring was, more than anything, what she had wished for—
“…Inviting her along on a whim was the right choice after all.”
As I watched my partner, the [Sword Saint], sleeping so peacefully, a strange feeling washed over me.
Having woken first, Iris, the [Sword Queen], let out a pleased, almost cheerful murmur to herself.
