Chapter 132 - Defense Successful, Awaiting Conclusion

“Shou-kun!”
Early dinner, early login. It was for Miki’s sake; I wasn’t in any hurry, so I did the dishes properly and headed to the club room a little past 7.
“Today’s Bell-buchou’s live stream, right? When’s it starting?”
First, I sat next to Mion and asked what was on my mind. According to Miki, they hadn’t decided on a clear time yet.
Usually, it starts at 8 or 8:30, but today that would mean starting halfway through the attack.
“I asked her before she went into IRO. She said it would start once the attack began. It’s still at the scheduled location, so I don’t think it’s started yet.”
“I see.”
Time-wise, it seemed like it should be starting soon, but...
“Well, there’s no point worrying about that too much, I guess.”
“Yes. More importantly, the video of the Red Armor Bear battle that was released today is getting an incredible number of views!”
“Ah, I forgot… Sorry.”
I felt embarrassed, like I’d been looking away and tripped over a stone at my feet.
Looking at the video Mion showed me, it already had over 50,000 views.
Player viewers should have been busy with the defense battle in IRO all day today, though.
“No weird comments, I hope?”
“No. Everyone is praising Shou-kun.”
“Hahaha…”
I just scrambled and didn’t think it was anything to be praised for, honestly.
“Alright, I’m going into IRO too.”
“Okay. I’ll let you know if anything happens.”
She said she’d keep me updated on Leona-sama’s live stream, just like at noon, so I’d work while listening again.

“Yes, many more than at noon. Natto is there too.”
If there are enough people, it should be fine.
Come to think of it, Seth (Miki) said “This will likely be the last one” but…

Listening to Mion’s commentary, I started my own work.
First, the innermost wall. I planned to add studs here for a back entrance, so I would need L-shaped brackets made from blacksmithing to connect them to the beams.
“They’re regular goblins and orcs. The numbers have increased again, though.”
“Both?”
“Yes. It’s the same at Leona-sama’s location too.”
Mion wasn’t particularly flustered, so it must be fine.
The studs on both sides of the main entrance were damaged when it was kicked open, so they’d been removed for replacement. Making new ones of the same length should be no problem.
While listening to the commentary, I worked on making studs from wood. I made four, fit them, made minor adjustments, and then securely fastened them with brackets and nails.
I’d make the doors separately later and prioritize the wall panels. Oh, and the wooden windows could wait too.

“Alright, alright. It’s starting to look decent.”
I finished replacing and adding studs, and all the back wall panels were put up, except for the back entrance part.
The area with the stairs leading to the first floor was troublesome to set up scaffolding, but other than that, it went smoothly. Probably thanks to my Carpentry skill level.
“Is the back entrance for cooking outside?”
“Exactly. The stone stairs at the main entrance lead straight down, but I plan for the back entrance stairs to lead towards the dirt floor area.”
It was about time I started thinking about things after the room was finished.
The stone kiln would naturally be placed on the dirt floor, but I didn’t want it too close to the house. Fires are scary.
“Ah!”
“Hm? What happened?!”
“The monsters all started moving at once. The lead orc is holding a large wooden shield… and I can see quite a few strong-looking goblins and orcs further back.”
“Ugh, seriously…?”
Organized action means there’s a commander-class enemy, naturally.
“They seem to be getting close to the wall, dodging arrows and magic…”
“Eh…”
Are they going to be alright? I mean, what are Seth and Natto planning?
“Ah, the Gnomes… they’re amazing!”
“Eh? Eh?! What is it?!”
Ugh, fine, I’ll log out for a moment and go see.
“I’m sorry. The Gnomes created an earth wall with their Spirit Magic, and when the enemies tried to climb over it, they were met with arrows and magic!”
“Ooh!”
“It seems Seth-chan is directing where to place the earth wall. Oh, and Natto and the others have gone out to intercept them!”
Hearing that, I breathed a sigh of relief.
If Seth had anticipated it, she must have a plan for dealing with it.
And with Natto there, Seth’s strategic brilliance could be fully utilized.
“Ah, magic from over there too! They’re fine!”
“Eh? How did they deal with the magic?”
“Bell-buchou put up something called a Magic Barrier, and she intercepted all of it midway through!”
“Amazing. I mean, there’s a spell like that…?”
According to Mion, a transparent wall-like thing appeared, intercepting and exploding the incoming Fireball mid-air.
Naturally, this damaged the minor monsters in the vicinity, killing two birds with one stone. From what I heard, it sounded like an incredibly effective counter-magic.
“They’ve started pushing them back!”
“Did they win?”
I couldn’t help but utter a jinx, but it seemed my worries were unnecessary.
“The last one left was an ‘Uruk,’ a boss monster Bell-buchou and the others defeated with Leona-sama before.”
“I see. So, the limited access players can win, but it might be a bit tough for those who started playing after the full release.”
“It seems Bell-buchou and Seth-chan are leaving it to Natto and the others.”
Perhaps they felt it would be unfair to take all the credit here.
Bell-buchou had already shown off her skills with the Magic Barrier, so doing it again might create a bad impression.
“How about Leona-sama’s side?”
“Ah, yes. They seem to be finishing up too. The people with wings from earlier… they don’t seem to be coordinating, but they’re fighting the monsters.”
“...What on earth are they?”
I remember hearing that they “were commanded to come,” so perhaps they were scolded for returning without doing anything last time?
“It seems Bell-buchou and the others are finished.”
“The pioneer settlement is safe, and we became friends with the Gnomes, so I guess it’s a great success. Oh, and the completion rate is 96%, so it looks like it’s almost over.”
Leona-sama’s area, the northern side of the Empire, the western side of the Principality, and the Holy Nation make exactly 100%? It just became 97%.
“Leona-sama’s side seems to be finished too. The last one was the same Uruk, so Leona-sama passed on it.”

Well, in her case, ‘she probably won’t fight opponents she can already beat’…
