Chapter 276 - Chapter 245: Grown by the Fairies
"Phew, all that's left is the harbor, huh?"
Descending the stairs from the balcony and heading toward the passage that leads to the harbor.
Come to think of it, I left that Venom Slime crushed and just left it there...
"Nina. Before we restarted, we fought against a monster called a Venom Slime, but do you know where it came from?"
[No. However, I believe it's highly likely they entered from there because the Magic Safety Fence was not operational.]
"Ah, I see."
At the exit from the passage to the harbor lay the remains of the Venom Slime... and the stone block that had crushed it.
I really did quite a number on that thing, didn't I.
"Should I dispose of this?"
If I use the Excavation Magic to break it up, I should be able to make it small enough to carry.
Just as I was thinking this and about to raise my hand,
"Ah! Please leave it until the live stream!"
"Eh? Oh, uh, yeah. You're going to show it on the live stream?"
"Yes!"
Mion's "stop" signal made me cancel the spell.
It's a bit embarrassing to make it look like I just brute-forced my way to victory, but then again, that's pretty much what I did, so I guess it can't be helped.
Come to think of it, I haven't told her about the Falling Rocks magic yet. Maybe I should mention that too.
"Nina. Do you know what this harbor was used for?"
[Yes. This harbor is where waste from the surrounding islands, excluding the main island, is collected. Since the volume isn't large, small magic boats are deployed as needed for collection.]
Small magic boat...
If it's supposed to fit in that harbor, it must be something like a hovercraft?
For the kind of "waste" (?) that comes from the surrounding islands, one boat should be enough, I suppose...
"The ship is gone, isn't it?"
"Yeah, that. Nina, do you know why there's no ship now?"
[No. This facility has absolutely nothing to do with the operation of small magic boats.]
"Well, I suppose so. Oh, what about the lighthouse?"
[No. This facility also has absolutely nothing to do with the operation of the lighthouse.]
So Nina's job is just the Mana Recycle. She doesn't manage things like boats or lighthouses that would allow travel to other islands.
Hmm... It's still too early to think about other islands, but I wonder if someone might find that boat and bring it to this island...
"Yotto"
"Wafu"
Going down one level from the harbor's pier (?) and proceeding toward the seaward exit.
Seeing the beautiful ocean beyond the open door lifts my spirits.
"I think it would be good to start the live stream from the lighthouse area, and then enter the harbor?"
"Yes. Please explain that you defeated the slime."
"Right. And there's that balcony above the stairs where you can see the neighboring island... what should I do about that?"
Since this isn't an Uninhabited Island Start location, I guess it's okay to talk about it?
"It might be better not to mention that. It could give clues to this island's location."
"I see. So I shouldn't carelessly reveal anything that could give clues to this island's location..."
"Yes. It's not part of the Sunday route, but what about talking about the volcanic crater and the Fire Spirit Stone?"
"That's a good idea. It would be nice to have her look into the possibility of obtaining Fire Spirit Stones on the mainland as well."
While discussing the general flow of the live stream like that, we went outside.
The sun is strong and it's a bit hot, but in return, the sea breeze carrying the ocean's scent feels pleasant.
"I wonder how True and the others are doing."
"Are we having a dinner party tomorrow night?"
"That's the plan, for now. I'll fish for about an hour, and then we'll have dinner. I haven't decided what to make yet, though."
I feel like I've already done everything I can with seafood dishes that don't use soy sauce or miso.
But then again, except for True, they probably haven't had sashimi with sesame oil and salt, or Aqua Pazza yet, so I think that should be fine.
And for dessert, I'm bringing plain and green warabi mochi.
"Phew. I'm back, I guess?"
"Wan"
"♪"
"Ah, thanks, Sweee."
Because I had closed the windows tightly, expecting rain, the air had become a bit stale.
Noticing this, Sweee asked the Wind Spirit, and the space was quickly ventilated, becoming refreshing.
First, I take out the vegetables I brought and put them down. Still in their wooden crates.
I brought kinako and potato starch, each packed in their own pots. Also seasonings like sugar, salt, black pepper, and white pepper.
I want True and the Selkies to be able to use these.
"There's so much."
"It helped that I could use the Spatial Magic's storage expansion."
Being able to carry two trips' worth in one trip is a big help.
For that, I need STR, and without VIT, I'd probably get tired quickly, but I think it was the right decision to put all the BP I got from leveling up into stats.
Still, it's pretty tough, and it takes time to move. I really wish I had the paired Transfer Magic Circle.
By now, Argenta's subordinates are probably working hard on it...
"♪"
"Ah, yeah, Camlus, right. Just wait a moment."
Before I go pick them, I should make some Grapeful Wine.
I carry a crate full of Grapefruit fruits to the backyard.
"Ah, what time is it now?"
"A little before 10:30."
"Hmm, it took longer than I expected, but that's because I went to see the Power Section."
I put down the crate, and before putting the Grapeful fruits into the Magic Brewer... I should probably wash them first.
I carry a barrel outside and ask the Water Spirit to rinse it.
After drying it with the Drying Magic, I set it up again in the Magic Brewer and start putting in the Grapeful fruits.
For now, I set it all to become Grapeful Wine.
Since it's a one-hour course, I'll probably log out before it's done, but I think that's fine. I'll make sure to put the lid on properly.
"Alright. Then, let's go pick the Camlus fruits."
"♪"
"Waf!"
...
..
.
"Sweee, let's stop here for now. The wooden crate is already full."
"♪"
This was my first time picking Camlus fruits in a week, but it seems that while I was diving in the sea with the Selkies, Sweee and the fairies had been taking care of the area around the tree.
The overgrown undergrowth had been thinned out just right, to the point where it could be called a neat Camlus orchard.
Thanks to that, there were quite a few more Camlus fruits, filling up the wooden crate I had brought for the Grapefruits...
"Sweee, did you do something?"
"♪..."
The way she turned away with a "pui" suggests she did something.
"Well, as long as the tree is healthy, that's fine. The Camlus fruits are delicious, after all."
"Wan"
"Lupi, ahh-"
Even eaten fresh, they're a bit bitter and sweet-sour.
The fairies seem to prefer them sweetened as a compote, but I think they're fine even this way.
"Shou-kun, it's almost 11 o'clock."
"Right. Then, shall we head back?"
This area around the Camlus tree could be made into terraced fields, and if so, the Selkies should be able to pick vegetables whenever they want, right?
Well, I'll ask True about it tomorrow...
