Chapter 319 - God is in the Details

"Alright, are Pan and the Urisks here?"

I hope they are.

After-school game play was almost entirely spent on mining and ingotizing ore.

The Mithril ore had completely respawned, and I mined a ton of silver ore, iron ore, copper ore, and Light Silver ore, raising my [Mining] skill and [Mineralogy] levels to 6.

I completely forgot I had [Mineralogy] and was like, "Huh?" which Mion-san pointed out…

Making high-quality ingots with the Ancient Magic Furnace, that might have been part of it.

There was still plenty of iron ingot left, so I focused on turning copper and Light Silver into ingots. In the meantime, I mass-produced nails, L-brackets, and hinges, and then after-school ended.

The Safe Zone in the northern cave now seemed to be connected to the church's Safe Zone.

I might as well clean up the weeds around here a bit more.

"Woof."

"Woof!"

Lupi ran off, taking Leda and Roy with her.

The Fairies also followed, perhaps wanting to eat Grapeful, but Sweee remained calmly seated on my left shoulder. Unusual…

"Wow, they've done quite a bit of work..."

Behind the church, several Urisks were tending to the vegetables in the field.

"Ryu~"

"~~~♪"

It was Pan, the chieftain of the Urisks, who came to greet us after noticing us.

He seemed happy with Sweee's reply, which sounded like, "No need to trouble yourself." Right, she was the Queen.

The Fairy Queen, is she high-ranking even among fairies? Things went smoothly with True, too.

He then guided us to the side of the church, towards the stable.

"Oh, they're taking care of the Yakokko too."

That's amazing.

No, really, it's a huge help, I thought as I followed, and then,

"Meeeeeh"

"Huh?"

There were goats! And two of them!?

Um, first I need to Appraise them.

[Ecryu]

*A herbivorous animal inhabiting mountainous regions.

Domesticated ones are docile, but wild ones can sometimes be aggressive, so caution is needed.

[Animal Husbandry]: Can be bred. Meat and milk can be used as food ingredients. Fur can be used as clothing material.*

"Goat milk!"

You did it! Now we can make cheese and butter too!

"Thank you! Wait, did you bring these?"

When I asked, Sweee translated, and he nodded repeatedly.

They seemed to be living with the Yakokko, but for now, they didn't seem to be fighting.

Well, that's probably because there's enough space to tether 4 or 5 horses or more.

"Ryu."

"Hm? Oh, I need to fix this..."

Pan pointed, as if to say, "Look at this." It was a wooden fence, and one of the nails holding it had rusted and was coming loose.

Is it like it's breaking?

"Yeah. It'd probably be fine for Yakokko, but if an Ecryu charges it, it'd probably break."

It was just right, or rather, I had just mass-produced nails and such.

I had planned to maintain this stable after finishing farm work today, anyway.

"These boards seem fine, so if I pull out the old nails and hammer in new ones, it should be okay?"

Just as I took out a hammer and nails from my inventory,

"Ryu!"

"Huh? Can you use it, by any chance?"

I handed it to an eagerly appealing Pan, who skillfully used the hammer to remove the wooden fence.

"Woof."

"Woof!"

Lupi instructed Leda and Roy to keep watch so the Ecryu wouldn't escape. Or rather, because they were glaring, the Ecryu ran further back and huddled together…

That's amazing.

"Yeah, they're so skilled."

When I helped support the fence, he fixed it in no time.

Sweee clapped her hands, and I found myself clapping along.

"Ryuryu?"

"~~~♪"

"Huh, oh, you'll take care of the other things that need attention?"

If that was the case, I pulled out a leather pouch containing the remaining nails and metal fittings.

The pouch, made from Ranjiboa leather scraps, wasn't as durable as bear leather, but it was still convenient to use.

"Ryu?"

He seemed genuinely interested, gazing intently at the L-brackets and flapping the hinges, as if the metal fittings other than nails were novel.

Shou-kun, shouldn't you make tools that fit their hand size?

"Ah, you're right, Pan was holding the hammer a bit short earlier, wasn't he?"

Not just tools, but farming tools too, perhaps.

"I see. Sweee, I need you to ask them something."

I explained that I would make tools that fit their size and asked them to use them to repair the stable.

I also mentioned that it would be nice to have farming tools, too. Of course, the tools and farming tools would be given to them, with the expectation that they'd use them for themselves as well.

"~~~?"

"Ryu~!"

Yeah. They look happy, so it seems like it's okay.

If that's the case, I should probably go to the blacksmith today.

Oh, no, before that…

"This is what we can't finish eating at our place, so take it back and share it with everyone."

I handed him Ranjiboa ham and shank. These were the parts I usually left over because I prioritized fillet, loin, and belly.

There were over 30 people, I think, but the portions were quite large, so there should be enough for everyone. Urisks, they eat meat… right?

"Ryu~♪"

Ah, good. Glad to see they're happy.

Assuming they repair this stable, I have enough tools and nails, but I feel like I'm short on wood in the first place.

"For now, I'll leave the tools and go cut some wood, I guess?"

Shou-kun. Before that, the church's basement.

"Oh, that's right!"

I had meant to check it after the live stream, or on Sunday night.

For now, I'll leave all the tools and farming implements I'm carrying here.

Pan seemed to take them and immediately start inspecting the stable.

Glancing around the fields, the Fairies were frolicking around the Grapeful, so I probably didn't need to call them.

"Alright, shall we go to the church?"

"Woof."

"Woof!"

Lupi seemed to have heard that and given instructions to Leda and Roy.

The two nodded and went in separate directions, so they would probably patrol around the church.

"Thanks."

"Woof~♪"

After praising Lupi thoroughly, I headed to the church.

Opening the tightly locked door, the Jade Goddess statue—Mion's spitting image—greeted me, illuminated by soft light.

It was a goddess statue I made myself, but illuminated by the faint glowing light, it looked…

"It's beautiful..."

Huh?

"Oh, no, it's nothing."

No, really, I won't compromise on the costume…
