Chapter 480 - What's the Reward for the First Request?
"Alright, connecting to the island now. Shou-kun, Lupi-chan, everyone on the island~"
"Welcome, Mion."
"Woof~" "~~~♪" "Ryuu~" "Kuru~" "Meow~"
Today's stream started in the mansion's backyard.
Everyone had gathered in the neatly maintained garden, but Kuro and the Ghillie Dhu sisters weren't there.
Species-wise (?), they didn't seem to like being too conspicuous, and Mion, who they were attached to, wasn't present either. Well, maybe if an opportunity arises.
"So, what's today's plan?"
"Okay. Um, we established the Players' Guild 'Tir na nOg.' Today is the inauguration party."
[Rakan] "That was fast!"
[Daytron] "
[Jonahfke] "
[Regery] "Quest! Quest!"
etcetc...
I thanked them for the super chats flowing in the comments, and gave a brief explanation of the guild.
I was the Guild Master. We had the backing of the Dragonkin. And we planned to open a branch office in the Necropolis.
While I was talking, Sweee and the others were fixated on the food and desserts on the table…
"Um, we can go into the details later, but can we eat first?"
"That's right. Everyone's waiting, so is that okay?"
The comments gave their approval, so we all immediately started to eat.
Seeing everyone's happy faces, I felt a wave of relief.
"Shou-kun. Please tell us today's menu."
"Okay."
Today, I hadn't made anything too elaborate. The main dish was sandwiches. Or rather, open-faced sandwiches.
I made bread using natural yeast from Grapeful, and added variations with meat, vegetables, and fruit jams.
"The bread also has various variations, doesn't it?"
"It's just kneaded with raisins and Ocher Nuts, though."
[Karin] "Raisin bread is so delicious~"
[Rising] "IRO's bread is seriously good."
[Giganot] "I want it Appraised!"
[Nonnonno] "I want the one with nuts…"
etcetc...
Noticing the comments, I pulled out the bread I had set aside for seconds and Appraised it.
All the breads, probably thanks to the Kohaku (wheat) cultivated by the Urisks, came with a VIT +7% (3 hours) buff. The raisin bread and nut bread also had INT +2%.
"Amazing!"
The stat increase was thanks to my Medicinal Cuisine skill, and the increased duration seemed to be due to the quality of the ingredients.
I guess it's because our Fairies are making them.
"~~~♪"
"Alright, alright. And the usual dessert, too."
As I arranged Torotoro Dried Papu Fruit, the Marone Kinton I made the other day, and Zenjaa Cookies on wooden plates, the Fairies and Carbuncles gathered around.
For Lupi and the others, I'd add some Roasted Greydeer, I suppose?
"Shou-kun. Could we please talk about the guild in more detail now?"
"Got it. Um, where should I start?"
"First, please tell us about the first request."
Ah, that's right.
I had talked about it before, but I should explain it again, just in case.
"Um, the broken piano in the mansion. I heard that Argenta-san's Dwarf acquaintances might be able to fix it, but they said it was impossible because they couldn't tune it."
"Tuning requires a specialist, doesn't it?"
"Of course, I can't do it either. Even playing it feels more like a rhythm game than actual piano playing."
[Reaper] "Even Dwarves can't do it, huh?"
[Mattoru] "Maybe a real-life specialist could?"
[Anche] "You should get the Musicology skill."
[Nosan] "That needs a lot of specialized knowledge, though."
etcetc...
There were knowledgeable people in the comments, and apparently, in addition to the Performance skill, it was good to learn the Musicology skill.
They said that once both skill levels reached 5, you would acquire the passive art [Absolute Pitch], which would allow you to discern the pitch (?) of any sound you heard.
"I see. But if it's an academic skill, that means…"
"You need books, right?"
The comments also told me about the books needed to acquire the Musicology skill; apparently, they could be found and read in large churches or capital cities of various nations (for a fee).
In my mind, cathedrals had pipe organs, and apparently, that wasn't far off.
That aside,
"The first request is about repairing that piano. And I'm struggling with what the reward should be."
"Something from the island, perhaps?"
[Molt] "I want to do it, but I don't have the skill…"
[Newd] "The difficulty is insane!"
[Mouchou] "Can't it be something new?"
[Disol] "I'd be afraid of breaking it if I failed."
etcetc...
Looking at the comments, I saw one that made me go, "Hmm?" It asked what if someone just stole the piano after accepting the request.
"Someone accepts the request and just takes the piano… would anyone want a broken one?"
"Just the fact that it was a piano found on this island gives it value!"
"Is that how it is?"
Judging by the reactions… Mion seemed to be right.
Normally, if such an unscrupulous person appeared, the Adventurer's Guild and other public guilds would be informed… I see.
"We have the Dragonkin as our backing, but would the same thing happen?"
"I wonder?"
[Otton] "Don't worry, we'll punish any scoundrels, right? LOL"
[Shundi] "Well, if anything happens…"
[Draichisan] "Is there a possibility of conflict with future updates?"
[Mogrin] "But it's impossible to attack with invincible attacks…"
etcetc...
The conversation was turning a bit unsettling, and I felt slightly put off.
I really didn't want to cause any trouble.
"I'll discuss that with Argenta-san. As for a realistic option, perhaps having them commute to a designated location in the Necropolis, or something."
"I see. That might be a good idea."
"The conditions will probably be quite strict, but only if they're okay with that."
"Once the detailed conditions are decided, we'll announce them in a video."
"Got it. As for the reward, we can't offer money, so if you could suggest anything you'd like."
The moment I said that, comments started flooding in at an incredible speed. What should I do about this?
