Chapter 561 - The Scariest Thing is the Players
That night, I logged into IRO and visited the Southern Island after a long time.
The Ken-nata I made during the day, or rather, the Kukri Knife, was praised by Mion, but its live stream debut was put on hold for a while.
After much thought, I decided it would be better to reveal the Stealth Skill only after countermeasures could be taken on the mainland.
"Mion."
Yes.
Taking Mion's hand, we exited the hollow of the Kouyouju Divine Tree.
Waiting there were Sweee, Shal, Pan, and Gaju, who had left earlier.
"Ju-ju~"
"Gaju, long time no see. Thanks for today."
Come to think of it, there had been no Kobold attacks while we were away.
Members of the Silver Manor had apparently been checking for anything unusual while building a promenade from Armra Forest to the front of the settlement.
"~~~?"
"Yeah. Go call True and the others. Lupi, you too, please."
"Woofn"
Mion, meanwhile, was surrounded, as usual, by fairies exclaiming, "The Goddess-sama is here!"
Well, Shal and the others were managing them skillfully as always, so I figured they'd be fine over there.
"Lyulyu?"
"Ju~ju~"
Pan seemed curious about the mauvepra (sweet potato) field I had taught Gaju and the others about, so he went to check on it. It was on the north side of the settlement, so it should be fine.
As for me, there was something I needed to ask first.
"Gaju. I have a proposal from the people who are currently on the island..."
I asked about creating a place for interaction in the plaza in front of the settlement.
It wouldn't be as big as a gate-front town, but it was expected to become a place where a decent number of people would come to buy and sell various things.
"Ju-ju~♪"
They were very welcoming, which was good.
And if such a place were to be built,
"I think those people will take care of the Kobolds, but are you Kijimunaa still concerned about them?"
"Ju!"
The gesture of tightly clenching both fists was surprisingly aggressive... or perhaps it was because they were long-standing rivals?
For now, I explained that buildings wouldn't appear immediately, but would gradually increase.
"Well then, I'll convey that. Today, I brought some souvenirs for you."
"Ju?"
It wasn't a huge quantity, but I brought knives, frying pans, and pots.
The items I couldn't carry myself,
"Sorry, Mion. Could you take out the pots?"
Ah, yes.
Since it was just what I'd made during the day, there were only about five or six of each, but they seemed to be doing their cooking together, so I thought it would be enough for now.
"Ju!?"
"Yeah. I also got a lot of Armra Fruit and herbs."
"Ju~♪"
Gaju immediately distributed them to the other Kijimunaa, especially those who cooked.
It was good to see the recipients happy. But the knives were dangerous, so I hoped they'd be careful...
"Kyu~♪"
"Oh, True, long time no see."
True, who appeared through the tree hollow, jumped at me as usual.
I felt bad that it had been so long since I'd seen True.
"~~~¥"
"Yes, yes. Good work."
I gave Sweee some Dried Grapeful as a reward for her work.
Gaju and the others probably hadn't eaten it before, so I brought a lot.
"Here, everyone try some too. Oh, if you don't like it, you can leave it."
"Ju-ju~"
Lupi and the others, Raz, Shal, and True all joined in.
I felt a little bad that Pan had already left, so I'd bring him some later.
"Kyu-kyu~?"
"Ju. Ju-ju~?"
"Uh, Mion, Gaju and the others want to visit our island, what do you think?"
Yes, of course.
True was talking about inviting them to the Selkie village, but if that was the case, I wanted to show them around not just the port, but various places.
Well, that aside, there was something I needed to do today.
"Alright, for now, let's meet up with Pan and the others."
"Ju-ju~"
.........
......
...
We all walked around the Kijimunaa settlement, focusing on checking security.
In addition, I taught Gaju and the others how to make traps, and before I knew it, time was up, so I hastily returned to the mansion and logged out.
I had promised President Bell I'd report on whether Gaju and the others would permit creating a gate-front town (?).
"Excuse me. Have you been waiting?"
"It's fine, I just arrived about five minutes ago. So, what did the Kijimunaa-chan say?"
When I told President Bell that Gaju was very welcoming, she looked relieved.
"Oh, by the way, won't they come outside the island, to the mainland?"
"I don't think so. Gaju and the others live with the Kouyouju, so they don't seem to go to places without it."
"That's good."
Mion and I tilted our heads at that answer.
"Um, 'that's good,' why?"
"Apparently, someone else who started on an Uninhabited Island found Ancient Ruins and connected to the mainland."
""Eh?""
It was a different situation from mine; they met a fairy named Esason first, then discovered Ancient Ruins. While exploring, they found a Transfer Magic Circle...
"It seems the transfer destination was an Ancient Magic Door that Anshia-san possessed, and they're having a lot of trouble because of it."
"Whoa..."
Discovered during a live stream, then used because viewers egged them on... I need to be careful too.
I could pretty much imagine what the trouble was about.
"Is it something like, Won't you belong to the Anshia Territory of the Republic after all??"
My guess seemed to be correct, as President Bell gave a wry smile.
However, the player who started on that Uninhabited Island, apparently a player named Sabana-san, ultimately returned to her own island and sealed the Transfer Magic Circle.
"Ah..."
"Anshia-san said she would continue to negotiate patiently... but I wonder how it will go?"
That was probably why she bought the Transfer Magic Circle, and she must desperately want an island with fairies.
"It was the right call for Shou-kun to declare the seal immediately during his live stream."
"Well, I originally intended to play solo, and I was perfectly fine without needing anyone's help, so it's okay."
"She's having a hard time without weapons and armor, you know."
"I knew it..."
Sabana-san, being an Elf, fought mainly with Spirit Magic, but her weapons and armor apparently remained un-upgraded.
"That's rough. I was lucky to find the Magic Furnace and mining site right away."
"That's true. Since Shou-kun set a precedent, she'll likely continue exploring the ruins. The question is what she'll do when she hits a wall."
Apparently, Sabana-san's live stream gained many viewers because of this incident, but that also meant more people would start making noise.
