Chapter 566 - Connecting the Dots
"Woof"
In the Large Transfer Room underground. The Transfer Magic Circle glowed, and after a while, Argenta-san appeared.
"Lord Shou. I apologize for bothering you during your busy time."
Argenta-san rushed over and bowed her head, but she looked terribly exhausted.
When we told her the rumors we'd heard, she wanted to know the specific location, so she had come here urgently.
Argenta-san said she would bring a map of the mainland.
I thought maps left in the Dragon Capital would be rare, but it seemed to be one made by players.
And then,
"Sorry for the wait."
This time, El-san appeared, carrying something like a large two-door refrigerator on her back.
When I asked if they could exchange the Ancient Magic Storage for a larger one to provide food for the White Dragon Princess, they immediately said they'd prepare one, but to bring it today, all of a sudden...
"El. Please take care of that."
Yes.
The placement was already decided, so after it was transported to the mansion, I would leave it to Mion to set up.
"Also, Lupi's wooden statue is in this wooden box. There aren't any delicate parts, but..."
"Ah, rest assured, we will transport it with utmost care."
"Thank you."
El-san would take that on her way back, so for now, we moved to the mansion.
Even though it was empty, El-san was effortlessly carrying the large Ancient Magic Storage on her back.
Not only the weight, but wouldn't her wings get in the way?
"Lord Shou, when did you hear that rumor?"
"I heard it just before contacting you today via Guild Card. Apparently, it's a place my acquaintances, I mean, members of the Silver Manor, are planning to explore."
"I see."
I briefly explained the course of events.
We exited the Ancient Ruins, greeted the Urisks and Cait Sith, and passed by the church.
"Brrr"
"Rigel. Next time, alright?"
Perhaps because Shal and the others brushed her daily, her coat looked even glossier than when I first met her. Maybe it was also because she was eating delicious food.
El-san seemed surprised to see Rigel like that, but she apparently understood after Argenta-san said something.
"I'm home."
"O-welcome home. And welcome."
Mion was a bit surprised by the Ancient Magic Storage El-san was carrying, but I explained and asked her to guide them to the planned installation spot.
Argenta-san and I went to the parlor to discuss the dragon.
"Here is the map. Please understand that there is no information about the Dragon Capital."
"Understood."
It was a proper map, but as expected, the Dragon Capital beyond the White Dragon Mountain Range wasn't on it.
It was made by mainland players, so that couldn't be helped. It felt awkward to be the only one who knew, anyway.
"Lord Shou, where did you hear the dragon was sighted?"
"I heard it from someone who heard the rumor, so I'm not sure if it's completely accurate, but..."
President Bell's discovered Ancient Ruins, the [Mage's Tower], was this one, and the Ancient Ruins near the Elf settlement were southeast of it.
And my sister Marie and the others were heading further south from there... it should be at the back of this canyon.
"Around here, I think. Probably someone near that Ancient Ruins tower saw it."
I should have asked President Bell for more details about that area.
"I see."
Argenta-san replied and fell into thought.
It seemed certain that the dragon was Emeraldia-san.
Even so, for Argenta-san to come so suddenly, it must be something very important?
"Um, is that Emerald Dragon Emeraldia-san dangerous?"
"In a sense, she might be dangerous. When the calamity occurred, she lent her power to protect the fairies and phantom beasts, but only after the White Dragon Princess persuaded her."
"Does that mean to humans..."
"No, it's not hostile; there's no problem as long as no harm is done to the fairies or phantom beasts."
Hearing that, I felt relieved.
My sister Marie and Season-san wouldn't do anything like that.
Even so,
"She doesn't live in the Dragon Capital, then?"
"No. How should I put it, she's not good at conversing with others to begin with..."
Argenta-san averted her eyes, looking away.
She's always been a bit reclusive, and prefers to live a relaxed life with fairies and phantom beasts... That hits a little too close to home.
"If that's the case, it's still a bit of a mystery why she was sighted flying around."
"After dealing with the calamity, she fell into a slumber, just like the White Dragon Princess. However, she left without stating where that place was."
Argenta-san and the others had been completely preoccupied with the White Dragon Princess, who had suddenly fallen asleep, and hadn't been able to keep an eye on Emerald Dragon Emeraldia-san, who had simply announced her slumber and left.
"So, are you going to go pick her up?"
"No. Vermilion reports that monsters and demons have become active, and both Azure and I are unable to leave our posts. Even if we were to summon Emeraldia, we couldn't entrust her with such work..."
Argenta-san again averted her eyes.
"Therefore, we wish to convey to her not to provoke her. And, if possible, to have her show her face in the Dragon Capital once."
Hmm, I could tell Seth and President Bell, but...
"I think the Silver Manor members can give you more detailed information, so how about having Azure-san convey it?"
"I see."
Argenta-san took out her Guild Card. It would be faster to convey it now.
After I roughly conveyed the content, including myself in the discussion,
Okay. So, it's fine if your acquaintances spread the word?
"Yes, I think that would be best."
Argenta. Sorry for the separate matter, but it seems some demons are heading towards the Demon Kingdom.
Vermilion-san interrupted with a report.
Argenta-san made an inexpressible expression at that report, but then Vermilion-san continued,
We just have to leave them be. If we say anything to them, we don't have evidence they'd believe.
"That's true. You two, continue to be on alert."
Understood. Roger that.
It sounds tough, I thought, but I was more concerned about when the White Dragon Princess would arrive...
