Chapter 573 - Chapter 511: Epic-Level Screw-Up
Friday
"Good work, everyone."
Mion let out a quiet sigh of relief, having just been thanked by Misha P, GM Choco, and Ms. Sato, the president of the music production company.
There hadn't been any issues, and they assured her that the final product would come together smoothly, sometime around the end of the month. She was told to hold off on confirming a final release date until then.
"By the way, I have a small favor to ask..."
Misha P turned to me.
At first, I thought she might want us to announce something, but instead she said,
"Would you mind if we used footage of your island during the time you two were away for the PV?"
"Oh..."
Footage showing what Lupi, Sweee, and the others were doing while we were gone.
While we were staying at my grandfather’s place, I remembered hearing that Leda and Roy had visited their family.
I glanced over at Mion; she looked hesitant, so I said,
"Only if we can review the footage first. I'd hate for anything private to get exposed."
"Yes! Absolutely!"
It was unclear when the PV would actually be released, but revealing our stay on the southern island would be problematic. It wouldn’t be fair to Bell-san or the people from the Silver Manor.
Still, I couldn’t help but point out,
"Are you sure it’s okay to keep making PVs focused only on our island?"
"Oh, don't worry—the main content will definitely center around the mainland. But if we don’t include your island, we just get a ton of complaints asking, 'Why isn’t the island in there?'"
Misha P and GM Choco offered awkward smiles.
I mean, personally, I’d love to see more from someone like Natural Ramune, but it was true—our island did have a disproportionate number of mythical beasts and fairies.
Come to think of it, how were things going with those other islands that had recently connected?
Well, the southern island’s story would probably go public soon enough. Maybe we should just look forward to that.
……
With recording wrapped and about an hour until dinner, I decided to drop into IRO for a bit.
I was curious how the White Dragon Princess and El were doing.
After yesterday’s welcome party, they’d spent the evening relaxing and chatting, and it was good to see the Princess enjoying herself so much.
"Um..."
The dining hall had been converted into the Princess’s room, and right next to it was El’s. I didn’t have any plans to intrude.
I usually asked them to meet in the reception room instead, but—
"Hey, welcome back."
"Oh, hello. Both of you. The Princess is sleeping right now."
El, who’d been reading a book, answered me softly.
"Let me prepare dinner."
"Good idea. Can you help out, El-san?"
"A-ah, if I can be of any help..."
Just washing carrots (Carotta) and Oradra (potatoes) would be a huge help. After all, I needed to cook a lot.
*
Tonight’s dinner was cold shredded pork with carrots, eggplant, and vegetables.
The tangy ponzu sauce made it a hit even with Miki, who usually hated carrots.
"I’m really looking forward to the album release. Has anyone mentioned when it might come out?"
"It’s still undecided, but probably around the end of next month. I’ve heard the songs from the recording session, but I’m curious how the final product will turn out."
Apparently, there was even going to be a grand classical version—something I heard might become the official main theme of IRO.
"Hmm. It’ll probably be used in the next PV too. I do hope the next World Quest starts soon."
"The next World Quest, huh..."
The demons invading the Demon Kingdom seemed like a strong candidate. Another thing on my mind was,
"Did you hear anything about how Mashiro-nee and Season-san are doing?"
"Season has been keeping in regular contact, but nothing unusual has come up. Maybe my older sister’s part-time job is just keeping her busy."
They were apparently using an elven village deep in the valley as their main base, but hadn’t moved too far in yet.
At least there didn’t seem to be any trouble, but I couldn’t shake my worry—had they run into that emerald dragon, Emeraldia?
*
"Rain, rain~♪"
"~~~♪"
The White Dragon Princess and Sweee were singing along to Mion’s piano.
True to the lyrics, a soft drizzle was falling, making any outdoor plans unappealing.
With plenty to do at home, I spent the time carving a wooden statue of Sweee.
"Wahf..."
The rhythmic sound of whittling wood seemed to lull lupus into sleep—both Leda and Roy had drifted off for an afternoon nap alongside Lupi.
It had been easier with Lupi’s statue since there weren’t many intricate details… but with Sweee, everything was intricate.
【Skill Level Up: Spatial Magic!】
Oh? My Spatial Magic skill finally leveled up.
After taking Azura’s advice to use magic more in daily life, experimenting with it during my work had paid off.
Using Fixation, Movement, and Rotation on the wood, and even shaping Magic Multimorphic Steel like clay into tools—
【Summoning Magic Skill is now available.】
"What—!?"
I almost shouted out loud, quickly clamping my hand over my mouth. Wouldn’t want to wake Lupi and the others—or make Mion worry.
Wait—Summoning Magic was the spell used to call someone, right?
I pulled up my skill list to check... there it was.
Huh?! The rarity is listed as 'Epic' and it requires 16 SP!?
【Summoning Magic】
The highest-tier elemental magic for summoning companions to the caster's location.
Prerequisites: Spatial Magic Lv7, Gravity Magic Lv7, Barrier Magic Lv7, Taming LVMAX
So this meant I’d be able to summon Lupi, Leda, Roy, Raz, and even Rigel too, probably.
And the reason I can finally acquire it… is probably—
"Wahf?"
"Ah, sorry, did I wake you? It’s… not an insignificant thing, but not urgent."
I opened my menu and checked the spells list...
There! I could now use Transfer and Teleportation under Spatial Magic!
So Summoning Magic was essentially a way to teleport companions to my side.
I should test Transfer first—no, Teleportation. Then, decide whether to take Summoning Magic after trying those out.
I’ll discuss it with Mion too, but in the long run, it’s likely we’d be better off learning it!
