I woke up in a small, clean cabin. It was dark outside. I was alone. I tried to reach the door, but it opened before I could. Master Priest stood there. I backed away, terrified. "I won't hurt you," he said, acting as if nothing was wrong. He made tea.
"Where are we?"
"A cabin in the woods. We can live here together."
He was smiling, but his eyes were cold. He wasn't doing this for love. He was using me. "You're using me as bait, aren't you?"
He laughed. "You're sharp. I do like you, but we don't have much time. They're here."
The door was kicked off its hinges. "Rachel!"
Louis. He punched Alois, sending him flying. Then he grabbed me, checking for injuries, before pulling me into a crushing embrace. He was trembling. "Did he hurt you?"
"No, Your Highness."
Louis glared at Alois with a murderous intensity. Theodore, Roger, and Cyril arrived. Theodore stepped between Louis and Alois. "Calm down, Louis. And you, priest... stop baiting him."
Kuro jumped into my arms. "Now," Theodore said, his eyes turning sharp. "Tell us why you lured us here."
