507 - Epilogue
Two chapters are being updated today. This is the second one.
...Ah.
As I picked up the second son born between me and Christina, I suddenly remembered her appearance from when she was eight years old. I wondered why now, but I quickly thought of the answer. When I returned in time to seventeen as "Teo," I lost the memories of having lived until thirty. The opposite must have happened. Because I reached the age I was when I first met Christina, I remembered "Tina" from that time.
...Whose doing was this?
I truly think they set things up well for me. When I remembered the image of the eight-year-old Christina, I could recall the memories and thoughts of that time, though not all of them. What can be inferred from this is that even if I had simply grown into an adult, I probably would not have been able to make Christina my wife. I had been entrusted by Saromon, the one who named her, that Tina was Leonardo's younger sister.
As long as I remained "Leonardo," I probably would have thought of Christina as nothing more than a younger sister.
...Well, I can't think of her as a younger sister now.
As "Leonardo," I could only think of "Tina" as a younger sister, but now I am "Teo," and Christina is "Christina."
Since "Christina" is not Teo's younger sister, even if the memories of spending time with "Tina" as siblings returned now, nothing would change between us.
I am "Teo," and Christina is "my wife." With two children born between us, there is no longer any room for big brothers or younger sisters.
"Daddy, today is a feast!"
As I was soothing the second son, the eldest son opened the door and entered the children's room. His black hair is the same color as mine and Christina's, but because he has blue eyes, I felt his facial features resembled Christina's a bit. The real name Bertrand gave him is a bit long, but Christina calls him "Taro." It seems that in the Japanese style of naming, the order of the children's birth is known by Taro, Jiro, and Saburo. In other words, it seems Christina intends to keep increasing the family.
"Daddy's role is to make the chunky soup with lots of vegetables!"
"I see. Christina is... making pudding again?"
"Mommy is making pudding. And egg sandwiches, and tatsuta-age..."
"...Was it you who chose the feast menu, Taro?"
"Yup. I love egg sandwiches."
Mirche, who married a year ago, was scheduled to come visit today with her baby. As a feast for that, it seems Christina is working hard in the kitchen. Judging by the menu, Salisa is probably making a cheesecake with Nuzer. Christina does not make cheesecake herself, saying it is not yet something that can be served to others.
"If there is pudding, egg sandwiches, tatsuta-age, stew, Daddy's chunky soup with lots of vegetables, and cheesecake with Nuzer, I'll be happy."
Taro laughs innocently, saying it is a feast. Usually, he is a composed, quiet child, but he is particular about the feast menu. Even though I say particular, he just specifies the same things every time. Since it seems to be the only selfish request Taro ever makes, both Christina and I accept it every time. Since they are all Christina's favorites as well, there is no need to oppose them.
"Is Taro in charge of picking the fruit?"
"Yeah. I just take the basket and go out into the garden."
Then the earth spirits will put fruit into the basket, Taro says with a laugh. Taro, who seems to have a nature that is loved by spirits from birth, is swarmed by spirits whenever he goes outside the house. If that Taro holds up a basket seeking fruit, the spirits will likely carry the fruit over willingly. I am a bit worried that he is too loved by the spirits, but since Remihio, who shows his face occasionally, seems to be teaching Taro how to interact with the spirits, I am not that worried.
I think he will probably become independent quite early, but that is all.
Typos and omissions will be handled at a later date. The reincarnated girl of Grenore is hereby concluded.
I might write something like an afterword in the activity report eventually.
