514 - Valentina's Perspective: The Selfish Young Lady

This is an SS that was previously posted in the activity report.

I knew that if Christina-sama gave birth to a daughter, her husband would become obsessed with her. Rather, it was a foregone conclusion, something definitively obvious. Anyone could have imagined it. No one said anything about this, and it could even be said that everyone had given up on the matter from the start.

However, the one who became most obsessed with the baby girl Christina-sama gave birth to was Sol-sama, Christina-sama's eldest son, who is called Taro-chan as a nickname. Sol-sama also cherished and adored his younger brother Jiro-chan-sama, but it seemed that a younger sister was truly special.

If his younger sister cried saying, "I want to eat strawberries," he would use spirits to find strawberries out of season, and if she cried further saying, "These aren't strawberries," perhaps because something didn't please her, he would ask Christina-sama about Japanese strawberries and use spirits again to search for them starting from the seedlings.

This time, to a younger sister who cried saying, "The strawberries aren't sweet," Sol-sama used spirits to perform selective breeding in one week, leading Christina-sama to look on with distant eyes, wondering, "Can selective breeding actually be done in a week?"

The baby girl, named Valentina so that her nickname would be Tina, ate the "big, sweet strawberries" prepared with such effort without any particular emotion and was done with them. For a toddler, a week is too long, and the younger sister had likely forgotten the very fact that she had wanted to eat them in the first place. Sol-sama, who must have wanted to make his sister happy, was a bit disappointed by this.

As a result, Valentina-sama grew fond of her older brother, who spoiled her even more than her father did. Or rather, she learned that if she cried to her brother, most of her selfish whims would be granted.

Theodore-sama, the father, was troubled by this, worrying that it was a bad sign for Valentina-sama, who received the protection of Sol-sama, who is loved by spirits more than anyone else on earth. He feared she might start being frequently kidnapped by spirits, just as Christina-sama once was.

However, Valentina-sama, who did nothing but act selfishly toward Sol-sama, ended up being disliked by the spirits.

Because Sol-sama would be sad, they did not play mean tricks that would put her life in danger, but the spirits decided to completely ignore whatever Valentina-sama asked of them. Thanks to that, though it was a strange story, she became the only child among those counted as royalty of the Ivizia Kingdom born to Christina-sama who was "a child who could be let outside."

The inability to easily move spirits is "normal" outside the Spirit Realm. Valentina-sama would likely be treated as a "normal" child who can see the forms of spirits and hear their voices even if she went outside the Spirit Realm.

...Though once let outside, she will probably just act selfishly toward Theodore-sama instead.

Deciding that it seemed fine to raise Valentina-sama outside the Spirit Realm, Theodore-sama and Christina-sama prepared a room for Valentina-sama at the manor of the Lord of Grenore. If she were to leave her strict mother and live with a father who did nothing but spoil her, Valentina-sama's selfishness would not be corrected, but rather worsen. I happened to interject that, but Christina-sama said with a refreshing smile.

"Valentina's reign will not last long."

The only daughter, or younger sister. Because she is the youngest, both Theodore and Sol dote on and spoil her, she said.

If that is the case, they only need to have more siblings below her.

A boy (younger brother) would be fine, but if it were a girl (younger sister), the matter would be settled simply. Emotions directed at only one person would simply be reduced by half if there were two.

The father and eldest son, who had remained elated since the birth of the first girl, would probably calm down a bit with that.

--That the fourth child, desired for these reasons, was a girl as intended and began claiming to be the reincarnation of the Saint Yuta Hiraga is another story entirely.

I made a thick and thin book. Those who are interested, please take a look at the activity report or the production blog.
