[Episode 1: Daughter of The Gantz]
Old knight Bard Rowen leaves the Tercia family he has served for many years and travels to a certain Gantz (dining inn) to stay. He saves the innkeeper’s niece from being taken away by the thugs who control the town. The girl leaves for Mithra safely to attend school.
[Episode 2: Sword Demon]
Bard is targeted by Jyotish Payne, a knight of the Gwendell family, the main enemy of his former employer, and Ven Uril, a wandering knight hired by Gwendell. Ven’s skills are incredible, and Bard cannot match him. However, with the help of his old horse, Stavros, Bard defeats Jyotish, and Ven withdraws after the fight. Bard barely survives.
[Episode 3: The Apothecary Old Lady]
Bard collapses on the road due to a strange flower and is saved by an old woman who is an apothecary. The flower is Geriadra, a terrible plant that spreads spores using human bodies as a breeding ground, endangering even entire countries. A dangerous beast approaches the old woman as she tries to burn the Geriadra. Bard protects the old woman and sees her transform into a beautiful young woman who can control flames.
[Episode 4: The Imperial Envoy and The Thief]
Priest Bali Toad, who came to the border to spread the news of the new king’s coronation, catches a fever. Bard saves him. Bard gets to know Bali and the skilled knights, Seifert and Chantilion, who accompany him. That night, thief Jurchaga sneaks into the envoy’s inn. While the group is immobilized by a paralysis drug, Bard manages to capture Jurchaga.
[Episode 5: Attacked]
Bard reunites with Julelan at Count Linz’s mansion. Julelan is the son of the noblewoman Idora to whom Bard dedicated his sword, and Bard learns of Idora’s death. Oswald, the adopted son of Count Linz, who wants to kill the count and take over his inheritance, and Gienzala, a knight of Gwendell who aims to kill Bard, take advantage of the situation. Bard defeats the marauders with all his might, but Jurchaga steals Idora’s letter. Before dying, Gienzala leaves a mysterious message, “What is the double swirl? Where is the seal?”
[Episode 6: Sunny(Himawari) Garden]
Idora was fond of Bard since she was a child. He once saved her life. When Idora was fifteen, she gave Bard Stavros and married Caldos Gwendell. However, Caldos sent Idora back to the Tercia family without making her his official wife, even after she gave birth to his child. Idora’s son, Julelan, grew up splendidly under Bard’s watchful eye.
[Episode 7: Double Swirl]
Bard meets Jurchaga again and eats around at Linz’s food stalls. Jurchaga follows Bard to Linz’s mansion. Linz and Bard hear from Jurchaga about Caldos Gwendell’s intentions. Why did Caldos want Idora’s letter? What is the double swirl or the seal? Caldos did not even tell his close aides why he was searching for them.
[Episode 8: Where is the Seal?]
Bard visits a woman who used to be Idora’s maid to find out what happened when she married Caldos. Bard realizes that the envoy’s party heading to Gwendell is in danger due to events that happened thirty years ago. Jog Ward arrives in the village at that time. Jog is a Gwendell knight who is after Bard. Bard and Jog confront each other. Jog spares Bard, whose right hand is paralyzed. Bard finds the seal hidden in a knife given to him by Idora.
[Episode 9: Lies and Truth]
Bard infiltrates Gwendell’s castle and confronts Caldos. The past secrets are revealed through their conversation. Idora caught the eye of Wendelland, the prince of the great nation of Parzam. Julelan was Wendelland’s son. Caldos conspired to make his son Julelan pass as Wendelland’s son to get close to him. Bard exposes Caldos’s plot, and Caldos crumbles when he realizes his plan has failed.
[Episode 10: Final Story Letter]
With the threat from Gwendell gone and the immediate reason for his journey resolved, Bard is torn between returning to the Tercia family or embarking on a new journey. He opens Idora’s letter, which she took back from Caldos. The letter encourages Bard to take flight into a free world. Bard sets out on a new journey, heading for Fyusa, a mountain where the souls of the dead gather.
